Pharmacists Group Loses Appeal Of EU Antitrust Raid

Law360, New York (October 27, 2010, 3:35 PM EDT) -- A European Union court has struck down an appeal from France's national pharmacists association challenging the European Commission's order forcing it to submit to an inspection as part of an investigation into whether French pharmacists have colluded to restrict competition for biomedical tests.

The EU's General Court rejected arguments from the Conseil National de l’Ordre des Pharmaciens and the central council of one of its sections Tuesday that the antitrust regulator overstepped its powers in ordering the associations to allow the inspections.
