Google Clarifies Adwords Policies To End French Probe

Law360, New York (October 28, 2010, 2:38 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. has agreed to make its AdWords policies more transparent in order to resolve a French competition probe into concerns that the Internet search giant discriminated against speed camera database suppliers.

France's Competition Authority accepted Google's commitments — an enhanced version of what the company originally proposed in July — Thursday, making binding Google's offer to introduce a procedure for alerting advertisers to changes in its Adwords content policy and to clarify the process for suspending an advertiser's account for breaching that policy.
