Protest Of DOD Charge Card Contract Rejected

Law360, New York (October 28, 2010, 1:19 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has rejected a company's protest of the Department of Defense's decision to award a credit card management contract to a competitor, backing the agency's preference to go with a more experienced government contractor.

In a decision Tuesday, the GAO ruled the Defense Department was correct to consider Effective Shareholder Solutions Inc.'s lack of experience with government charge card systems when evaluating proposals for the five-year contract worth at least $100,000.
