VA Official Flouted Veteran-Owned Business Law: COFC

Law360, New York (October 28, 2010, 6:25 PM EDT) -- A contracting officer for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs failed to follow regulations regarding veteran-owned businesses when she awarded a contract for laundry services at six VA hospitals to a nonprofit agency for the handicapped, a federal judge has ruled.

Judge Charles F. Lettow of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims on Tuesday granted a motion by Angelica Textile Services Inc., which previously held the contract, for judgment on the administrative record.
