DOD Needs To Improve Acquisition Training, GAO Says

Law360, New York (October 29, 2010, 6:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense needs to beef up training as it seeks to improve its acquisition staff, particularly when it comes to awarding contracts on factors other than just price, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

The watchdog agency issued two reports Thursday on training at the DOD, which is looking to improve the capability of its acquisition personnel as the Obama administration seeks to scale back the amount the government spends on contracting.
