Chinese Exporter Yama Sues US Over Ribbon Duties

Law360, New York (November 1, 2010, 4:04 PM EDT) -- Chinese exporter Yama Ribbons and Bows Co. Ltd. has launched a suit against the U.S. government over a recently issued duty on woven ribbon.

Yama's suit, filed Thursday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, takes issue with a 1.56 percent duty the government applied to its exports of narrow woven ribbons from China. The company says the government made an accounting error and that the duties should be zero.
