“American Idol” Sex Scandal Leads To Suit

Law360, New York (March 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- “American Idol” producers and finalist Mario Vazquez have been attached to a wrongful termination suit in which a former assistant production accountant alleges he was fired after reporting that Vazquez sexually harassed him.

Magdaleno Olmos, a former accountant of Fremantle Media North America Inc., one of the companies that produce the popular singing competition, filed the suit last Friday in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

The complaint sought unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, and alleged the defendants violated California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act.
