Century Indemnity Loses Bid To Stay Asbestos Fight

Law360, New York (November 1, 2010, 3:23 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has rejected Century Indemnity Co.’s bid to stay General Cable Corp.'s fight for insurance coverage for ongoing asbestos litigation while Century's declaratory judgment suit against the cable maker is pending in state court.

Judge Paul S. Diamond of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled Friday that Century’s "forum shopping" did not justify staying the case, but he did agree to pare the insurance fight.
