Court Awards $20M To Former Clients Of Villalba

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 1:45 PM EDT) -- A group of investors has obtained a $20 million award against self-proclaimed financial whiz Enrique F. Villalba Jr. after claiming he ran a Ponzi scheme that in some cases stripped them of their life savings.

Judge Richard A. Jones declared that the investors should receive more than $20 million for principal and interest and nearly $18,000 for attorney fees and costs, according to a judgment Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
