NLRB Says Firing Over Facebook Comments Is Illegal

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 1:43 PM EDT) -- The National Labor Relations Board is claiming that one of the country's largest ambulance service providers wrongly fired an employee after she criticized her boss on Facebook.

The NLRB's Hartford regional office lodged a complaint against American Medical Response of Connecticut Inc. on Oct. 27 alleging the employee's Facebook posts constituted protected concerted activity, rendering her termination illegal.
