Nationwide Settles Coverage Suit Over Corpse Sales

Law360, New York (November 03, 2010, 4:46 PM ET) -- Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. has settled a dispute over coverage for lawsuits — including a class action — brought against funeral homes and a crematory that allegedly helped dismember corpses to sell body parts.

Judge Michael M. Baylson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania granted the dismissal of the insurance dispute Tuesday. In a stipulation filed with the court, Nationwide said it and the remaining parties had reached a compromise, though no other settlement details were given.
