San Francisco To Take Toys, Sugar Out Of Happy Meals

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 12:16 PM EDT) -- In San Francisco, kids are going to have to choose — if they want a Happy Meal, they’ll have to choke down some carrots and skip the sugary soda; if they want fries and chicken nuggets, they’ll have to give up the toy.

Under a new law given preliminary passage Tuesday, San Francisco will become the country's first major U.S. city to ban the sale of Happy Meals and similar toy-based offerings unless they contain reduced fat, sodium and sugar content and include fruits and vegetables....
