Lawmakers To Probe Fresh Walter Reed Charges

Law360, New York (March 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Amid allegations of substandard conditions for troops at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, lawmakers are reportedly set to investigate whether the facility maintained a plush ward for high-ranking military officials at the expense of ordinary wounded soldiers.

In response to inquiries about the six-suite ward on the hospital's top floor, a subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives led by Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) is asking “if the allocations of resources is in any way adversely impacting the treatment of the troops,” USA Today reported Friday....
