Astellas Targets Glenmark Over Eczema Drug

Law360, New York (November 5, 2010, 12:43 PM EDT) -- Two subsidiaries of Japanese drugmaker Astellas Pharma Inc. have sued India’s Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., seeking to put a halt to the generics maker’s plan to produce its own version of eczema treatment Locoid Lipocream.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, Astellas Pharma International BV and Astellas Pharma Europe BV allege that Glenmark’s proposed generic would infringe a patent that expires in 2014.
