Honey Exec Sentenced For Dodging $5M In Duties

Law360, New York (November 5, 2010, 7:21 PM EDT) -- A federal court has sentenced an owner of several California-based honey import companies to 30 months in prison for scheming to evade more than $5 million in U.S. anti-dumping duties.

Hung Ta Fan, also known as Michael Fan, was sentenced Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and was ordered to shell out nearly $5.4 million in restitution after pleading guilty to the charges in August under a cooperation agreement with the government.
