ArcelorMittal Hit With Wall Connector Patent Suit

Law360, New York (November 8, 2010, 3:14 PM EST) -- Steel giant ArcelorMittal SA is importing and selling sheet pile wall component connectors that infringe five patents owned by PilePro LLC, a new suit claims.

South Dakota-based PilePro’s complaint, lodged Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims the Luxembourg-based Arcelor, through its U.S.-based Skyline Steel LLC unit, is infringing technology used to fasten together pieces that make up retaining walls.

The products that allegedly infringe the patents are variously shaped connectors designed to hold together wall components.
