Hariri Gets 18 Months For Role In Galleon Trading Ring

Law360, New York (November 8, 2010, 2:04 PM EST) -- A judge has sentenced a former Atheros Communications Inc. executive to 18 months in prison for passing along tips as part of an insider trading scheme involving Galleon Group founder Raj Rajaratnam.

Judge Richard J. Holwell sentenced Ali Hariri, a former vice president at the Santa Clara, Calif.-based semiconductor maker, on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, doling out a lighter punishment than the minimum of two years requested by federal prosecutors.
