Stanley Black & Decker Hit With False Marking Suit

Law360, New York (November 10, 2010, 3:57 PM EST) -- Stanley Black & Decker Inc. is unlawfully advertising its DeWalt drill products by associating them with an expired drill bit patent, a new suit brought by frequent qui tam plaintiff Promote Innovation LLC claims.

The New Britain, Conn.-based toolmaker willfully labeled bits and drill-bit sets with a patent that expired in 2007, according to a complaint lodged Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
