Cumbre Loses Appeal Of Suit Over Brokerage Deal

Law360, New York (November 9, 2010, 7:48 PM EST) -- A California appeals court has upheld a jury verdict against Cumbre Inc. in its case seeking damages and injunctive relief after the State Compensation Insurance Fund terminated a brokerage agreement between the parties.

California’s Fourth District Court of Appeal on Tuesday shot down several arguments by Cumbre that SCIF’s termination process was unfair and that the trial court made a string of errors, keeping intact the jury verdict in favor of SCIF.
