APEC Advisers Urge Free Trade Area To Boost Growth

Law360, New York (November 10, 2010, 5:33 PM EST) -- With the the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit kicking off in Japan on Wednesday, a group of business leaders called for concrete steps toward a establishing a free trade area in the region.

The APEC Business Advisory Council said Wednesday it would ask APEC trade officials to decide how to best set up a free trade area for the Asia-Pacific region, or FTAAP, either through the Trans-Pacific Partnership or by using a framework from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
