FCC Probes Google's Street View Privacy Breach

Law360, New York (November 10, 2010, 7:18 PM EST) -- Not long after Google Inc. wrapped up a Federal Trade Commission investigation into its Street View service, the search engine giant is reportedly facing another government probe from the Federal Communications Commission over its mistaken collection of sensitive private data.

Earlier this year, the FCC opened an investigation into Google's inadvertent gathering of “payload data,” including personal e-mails, passwords and Web surfing information, sent over unsecured Wi-Fi networks, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
