GAO Stamps Out McRae's Protest Of $82M Boot Deal

Law360, New York (November 15, 2010, 3:01 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has denied McRae Industries Inc.'s challenge to an $82 million boot contract issued by the Defense Logistics Agency to rival Wellco Enterprises Inc.

The agency did not act unreasonably in contracting Wellco, which offered a proposal that was both cheaper and technically superior to McRae's, GAO acting General Counsel Lynn Gibson said in an Oct. 20 ruling made public by her office Friday.
