Pollution Claims Against Cabot Survive Dismissal Bid

Law360, New York (November 16, 2010, 2:23 PM EST) -- Claims brought by a group of rural Pennsylvania residents accusing Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. of polluting groundwater wells by hydraulic fracturing have largely survived a dismissal bid by the natural gas producer.

Cabot sought an order nixing four of the eight claims asserted by the plaintiffs in their second amended complaint, but Judge John E. Jones III of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania ruled on Monday that all but one of those claims could move forward.
