E.U., U.S. Go Head To Head Over Subsidies

Law360, New York (March 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Europe’s Airbus has unfairly cornered the civil aircraft market thanks to over $100 billion in subsidies, according to an argument made at a World Trade Organization hearing by United States officials.

The hearing, held on Tuesday, addressed U.S. allegations that the European Union’s subsidies to jet maker Airbus gave the company an unfair advantage and allowed it to overtake rival company Boeing as the largest civil aircraft producer in the world.
