Oxfam Slams Abbott Over Thailand Standoff

Law360, New York (March 21, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Charity group Oxfam International has blasted Abbott Laboratories for its recent decision to halt the launch of new medicines in Thailand, urging the pharmaceutical giant not to “abandon the sick people in Thailand.”

The U.K.-based international aid agency delivered harsh remarks to Abbott over its decision to fight back in the wake of the Thai government’s decision to break the patent on Abbott AIDS drug Kaletra.
