EU, ASEAN Delegations Meet in Vietnam For IP Workshop

Law360, New York (October 10, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Southeast Asian and European Commission officials met in Hanoi Thursday for an annual meeting to discuss ways to improve intellectual property protection, French news agency Agence France-Presse reported.

Members of the EC-ASEAN Intellectual Property Rights Co-operation Programme (ECAP II) participated in a two-day workshop to explore ways to strengthen protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Special attention was focused on protecting products from a particular geographical origin, such as jasmine rice from Thailand or Phu Quoc fish sauce from Vietnam, the news agency reported....
