Top DOJ Economist Defends Merger Guidelines

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 5:06 PM EST) -- The chief economist for the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division on Thursday defended the recently revised horizontal merger guidelines, saying the new rules have succeeded in promoting transparency by accurately describing how government agencies actually evaluate the competitive effects of mergers.
