Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 5:41 PM ET) -- A putative class action lodged by a group of more than 15 Midwestern municipalities seeking to force Syngenta Crop Protection Inc. to pay for the removal of an allegedly toxic herbicide from public water supplies has survived the company's dismissal efforts.
Judge J. Phil Gilbert of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois on Thursday denied most of Syngenta's motion to dismiss the suit, which claims that atrazine manufactured by Syngenta has contaminated water that the plaintiffs process into public drinking water....
