ITC To Probe IBM, Dell Over Data Storage Patents

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 11:27 AM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to take up two investigations into whether IBM Corp., Dell Inc. and others are infringing data storage patents through imports of media devices used to back up electronic data and other data storage products.

The ITC said Thursday it had opened the inquiries based on an Oct. 20 complaint filed by patent-holding company Data Network Storage LLC and an Oct. 19 complaint filed by Overland Storage Inc., both of which allege violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act...
