ICS Drops Polaroid, Wraps Up TV IP Case

Law360, New York (November 22, 2010, 8:26 PM EST) -- International Control Systems LLC has dismissed infringement allegations against holdout defendant Polaroid Corp., wrapping up 30 months of litigation over a widely asserted patent for a television volume control mechanism.


Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham granted ICS’ motion to dismiss claims against Polaroid, the last of 13 television manufacturers accused of unlawfully incorporating patented sound leveling technology.


Goldstein Faucett & Prebeg LLP’s Edward Goldstein, counsel for ICS, said that the dismissal of the remaining defendant was “to clean up the case because of Polaroid’s bankruptcy.”...
