Life Tech Sues GenMark Over DNA Test Patent

Law360, New York (November 22, 2010, 1:38 PM EST) -- Software maker Life Technologies Corp. has accused GenMark Diagnostics Inc., which develops medical diagnostics products, of infringing a patent related to nucleic acid generation and detection technology.

Life Technologies and its subsidiary Applied Biosystems LLC are seeking to enforce U.S. Patent Number 6,514,699 in a complaint lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California by in-house counsel Rip Finst and Matthew D. Murphy of Gordon & Rees LLP.
