Motorola Targets Xbox Systems In 337 Probe Request

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 6:51 PM EST) -- Motorola Mobility Inc. has launched an action in the U.S. International Trade Commission accusing Microsoft Corp. of importing Xbox 360 gaming and entertainment consoles that infringe five patents covering digital video coding and transmission.

Motorola and its General Instrument Corp. subsidiary on Monday urged the ITC to institute an investigation pursuant to Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 into Microsoft's allegedly unlawful and unauthorized importation of certain gaming and entertainment consoles, related software and components thereof.
