Cox Agrees To Support $11B Qwest-CenturyLink Merger

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 3:24 PM EST) -- Cox Communications Inc. has struck a deal that resolves its competition concerns over an $11 billion merger between Qwest Communications International Inc. and CenturyLink Inc., putting the tie-up one step closer to winning approval from regulators.

The Cox deal, which dealt with wholesale conditions, was announced by the companies Monday. As part of the deal, Cox acknowledged the merger is in the public interest and that state regulators in Arizona and Nebraska should approve the merger.
