Travel Agency Pays $3M To Settle FLSA Class Actions

Law360, New York (November 24, 2010, 5:41 PM EST) -- A federal judge has signed off on a $3 million agreement that will end litigation between Liberty Travel Inc. and travel agents who allege the company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and state law by not paying them proper overtime.

Magistrate Judge Mark Falk of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey granted preliminary approval to the settlement in an order filed Tuesday. If granted final approval, the settlement will end two FLSA collective actions in federal court and one state court...
