Federal Circuit Affirms Syringe Patents' Invalidity

Law360, New York (March 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court ended the longstanding patent fight between Liebel-Flarsheim Co. and Medrad Inc. Thursday when it affirmed that four Liebel syringe patents were invalid.

In its second examination of the same case, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit agreed with the district court’s invalidity ruling on the claims of patents for front-loading fluid injectors and syringe sensing held by Liebel and Mallinckrodt Inc.
