Supreme Court Refuses To Hear $11M CERCLA Claim

Law360, New York (November 29, 2010, 3:49 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to rule on whether Ford Motor Co. and four other plaintiffs can hold a specialty alloy maker liable for $11 million in settlement costs associated with the cleanup of a Superfund site in Pennsylvania.

In an order Monday, the high court declined to review an April decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit that had kept open the possibility that Carpenter Technology Corp. could be held responsible for the costs.
