Iran Faces New Sanctions As Nuclear Talks Begin

Law360, New York (December 1, 2010, 4:33 PM EST) -- U.S. officials have announced new sanctions on Iranian shipping lines, telling lawmakers that the Islamic nation is feeling the pressure of such measures "as never before."

The U.S. Department of the Treasury said late Tuesday that it had added five corporate officers and 10 businesses to its blacklist of entities connected to either the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines or Bank Mellat, which the U.S. has previously cited for allegedly carrying military cargoes and supporting Iran's weapons of mass destruction program.
