GAO Nixes Chopper Contract Bid Protest

Law360, New York (December 1, 2010, 6:38 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has rejected ARINC Engineering Services LLC's challenge to the terms of the U.S. Navy's request for proposals to supply helicopters for the Afghan air force, finding that the solicitation was not unduly restrictive of competition.

ARINC contended that the Navy's RFP should have included a clause to address the potential anti-competitive effects stemming from the role of a Russian government entity, Rosoboronexport State Corp., that allegedly has the exclusive right to negotiate contracts for the export of Russian military technology....
