EU, India Near Settlement In Drug Seizure Row

Law360, New York (December 1, 2010, 7:50 PM EST) -- The European Union and India are near a settlement of India's World Trade Organization complaint over Dutch seizures of several shipments of generic medications destined for Latin America and Africa, which were based on patent infringement claims.

EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht and Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma discussed the issue during a meeting on Monday and made "very good progress on this issue," EU Trade Spokesman John Clancy said Wednesday.
