Beazer To Pay $1M In EPA Clean Water Act Probe

Law360, New York (December 03, 2010, 2:12 PM ET) -- Beazer Homes USA Inc. has agreed to pay $925,000 in penalties to resolve alleged Clean Water Act violations, a portion of which will pay for the removal of 10 million pounds of pollutants from Chesapeake Bay, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced.

The EPA, which will split the penalty with seven states that joined the enforcement action, announced the settlement Thursday, concurrently filing a complaint and consent decree in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
