Importer Files CIT Suit Over 100% Duties On Rusks

Law360, New York (December 6, 2010, 5:52 PM EST) -- World Finer Foods Inc. has become the latest food importer to sue the U.S. government over retaliatory sanctions that followed the European Union's ban on American hormone-treated beef.

The Bloomfield, N.J.-based importer has had to pay duties of 100 percent on rusks from the Netherlands thanks to the beef hormone sanctions, which should have ended in 2007, according to the complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. Court of International Trade.
