DOE Out Of Compliance On DOD Projects: Report

Law360, New York (December 6, 2010, 6:01 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Energy routinely violated the Federal Acquisition Regulation in making purchases on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, including by failing to record data and conduct cost analyses, the DOD's Office of the Inspector General has determined.

The DOE did not agree to comply with procurement rules with respect to 14 projects reviewed by the inspector general because it erroneously believed the rules did not apply to reimbursable interagency acquisitions, according to a 79-report issued Friday.
