Halliburton, KBR Deny New Nigerian Graft Charges

Law360, New York (December 7, 2010, 7:39 PM EST) -- Energy companies Halliburton Co. and KBR Inc. on Tuesday denied that they were guilty of new Nigerian charges that they bribed officials in the corruption-beleaguered country to obtain natural gas contracts.

A Halliburton spokeswoman told Law360 that her firm was not even involved in the project at the center of reported charges from Nigeria's anti-graft regulator, while KBR, Halliburton's former subsidiary, said the Nigerian government was “wildly and wrongly” asserting blame.
