Port Workers Misclassified As Contractors, Report Says

Law360, New York (December 9, 2010, 4:11 PM EST) -- A new study has found that the 110,000-plus port truck drivers in the U.S. are highly vulnerable to being misclassified as independent contractors, which labor market experts said could subject them to lower wages, more frequent safety violations and restricted access to health care benefits.
