Blue Cross, Others Booted In Pfizer Neurontin MDL

Law360, New York (December 10, 2010, 6:25 PM EST) -- A judge on Friday threw out the bulk of claims brought by consumers, insurers and others in a consolidated class action alleging Pfizer Inc. and Warner-Lambert Co. fraudulently marketed the drug Neurontin for off-label use, ruling that they failed to establish causation.

Judge Patti Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts ruled that Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act violations and other claims brought by several organizations, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, and all but two consumer plaintiffs couldn’t survive...
