Pittsburgh Hospital Deal Comes Under Scrutiny

Law360, New York (March 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A proposed $120 million merger between the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh has come under antitrust scrutiny, with regulators seeking more information about the competitive implications of the deal.

The Federal Trade Commission and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office have requested more information about the merger, UPMC spokesperson Wendy Zellner confirmed Wednesday.
