Acacia Files Second Round Of Lawsuits Against Cable Companies

Law360, New York (September 13, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- Acacia Research has filed a second round of lawsuits against cable companies for allegedly infringing its controversial patent rights to on-demand streaming-media technology.

The new suit, which follows another suit against the top cable companies in the U.S. in June, targets small cable companies, mostly in Arizona, Minnesota and Ohio.

The earlier lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, targeted six cable companies in the, three of which have settled and signed licensing agreements, according to Acacia.
