La. Judge Scraps Blue Cross HMO State Contract

Law360, New York (December 16, 2010, 7:13 PM EST) -- A Louisiana judge has reportedly overturned a contract the state awarded to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana to administer health insurance benefits to thousands of state workers, handing a victory to Humana Inc. and United Healthcare Insurance Co.

Judge Michael Caldwell of the 19th Judicial District Court of Louisiana said at a hearing in Baton Rouge, La., Wednesday that "the contract awarded was not the contract bid upon," according to the Associated Press.
