Senate Sends Short-Term Spending Bill To House

Law360, New York (December 21, 2010, 3:49 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate on Tuesday approved a bill to pay for government operations through March, leaving budgets for a number of specific defense programs and newly enacted laws to overhaul health care, financial regulation and food safety enforcement in limbo until the next Congress.

Senators voted 82-14 to close debate on H.R. 3082, the legislative vehicle for a short-term continuing resolution for fiscal year 2011, and went on to pass it by a vote of 79-16.
