Germany Hit With €1B Claim Over Blocked Merger

Law360, New York (December 22, 2010, 7:38 PM EST) -- A Danish headset maker has filed a €1.1 billion ($1.4 billion) claim against Germany's cartel regulator for blocking the sale of the company's hearing aid unit to Swiss medical device maker Sonova Holding AG.

GN Store Nord AS announced Wednesday it filed the claim against the Federal Cartel Office in the Bonn District Court to recoup losses it suffered after the regulator killed the merger of GN ReSound and Sonova.
